Solid Food Schedule for 12 Month Baby / Baby Feeding Schedule for Solids Foods / Feeding Schedule for 12 Month Baby

picture taken on mahas first birthday
Sorry for the late post..I have been very busy with my lil one and yummy tummy, so almost forgot about this webpage..Okay lets talk about the feeding schedule. Since she has started her 12th month. Her foods has expanded to a vast now.

8.00 to 8.30 AM: She wakes up around this time, i freshen her up and gives her nestum, this time i have started including cows milk in her diet. I start with aavin's milk. I take 1/2 cup of milk and 1/2 cup water and boil it completely. Then use that in her foods. I dont give her thick milk, it is always diluted milk. I started giving her thick boiled cows milk only after her birthday.

I give her nestum this time, or it will be our normal breakfast like idli, dosa, idiappam, appam, pongal like that. Somedays i give her ragi, oats or wheat almond porridge.

10.00 to 10.30 AM: I just give her some kind of finger foods like cucumber sticks, apples sticks, parboiled potato sticks or carrot sticks. She loves my sooji fingers as well. Will share those recipes soon. I am just telling you the recipe briefly so you can try it, It is simply 1/4 cup finely grated carrots and 2 tblspn sooji mixed well and cooked with 1/2 cup of hot water till it is like a upma. Then shape it like a finger and steam it in a steamer. Cool this down and give it to your baby. She just eats 1 or 1/2  a stick. So this wont make her filling. It is just a snack.

11.30 to 12.30 PM : I know she will start to sleep very soon, so this is the time i feed her lunch, because once she starts to sleep she will only wake up at 3.00 or 4.00 PM. I just dont want her to sleep with empty stomach and starving. Her lunch is as usual, I give her dal rice, spinach rice, sambar rice without much spice, curd rice, milk rice and it is clearly rice meal for her lunch. I also started giving her the sidedishes which we have, but i reduce the chilli powder for her alone so she can enjoy it. I give her potato roast, carrot poriyal, mixed veg avial. I have started adding coconut in her diet as well. After lunch it is time to sleep.

She sleeps after this, she only wakes around 3.00 PM or 4.00 PM

4.00 PM to 4.30 PM : Since she had a long sleep, she is definitely hungry. So i will giving her ragi, oats, sooji or sago kheer. Somedays i will be giving wheat porridge or my health mix. This time i makes those will milk and not water.

6.00 PM to 6.30 PM : I will be giving her some kind of biscuits like milk bikis. But mostly it will be my homemade biscuits. if i ran out of it, i will give store bought biscuits.I give her 2 to 3 pieces of cheerios, chocos or something like that so she can munch on.

8.00 PM to 9.00 PM : This is her dinner time these days. I give her the food which we eat, dosa, idli, idiyappam, appam, kozhukattai..Mostly it is steamed ones.
Inbetween these schedule in keep on feeding her mother feeding. I didn't give formula milk because she didn't like it, mother feeding is what i prefer. And after 9.00 PM i dont feed any solid foods, i feed her mother feeding only. I feed her lots of water.

How to Take Care of Baby in Winter / Winter Skin Care for Baby

I have seen a very cold winter season here in my place. It was so cold, so dull and very lazy winter. But i dont want maha skin to be affected. Because during the first week, i didn't take any steps for winter and i just thought it will pass by. But it was later i realized that maha's legs and hands are getting so drier. That when it hit my head. So below are the little things which i did to care my baby on cold winter.

Check out, How to take care of baby skin in summer too..

Less Bathing is good:

I bathed maha once in two days. And also it is not a very long bath. Because i dont want her to catch cold. I also made sure she bathe in warm water.

Moisturizing is the key:

Before bathing i make sure i apply coconut oil all over her body. I also make sure to put on the baby lotion all over her as soon as she comes out of the shower, so it seals the moisture in her skin. I do a quick massage three to four times a day.

Oiling Hair is Must:

I apply coconut oil on her hair really well before each bathing and shampoo her hair after that. So her hair stays soft and moisturized and doesn't get dry. I used to apply very little few drops of coconut oil on her hair in the evening so it prevents the dryness.

Drinking Water helps:

Make sure you feed your baby warm water throughout the day. So the throat doesn't dry out and your baby stays hydrated,

Drying or lips and nose:

Make sure you apply baby lip care gel on the baby lips if it gets too dry, and applying petroleum jelly in your baby nose prevents the dryness inside the nose which may cause discomfort in some babies. Maha didn't get these problems. I think feeding water throughout the day helps.

Dress Properly:

Make sure your baby wear a hat or hood whenever you take her out. So no cold air gets in her ears and head. Babies head should be always warm.

Wear soft cloth dresses for baby and make sure you have a jherkin of a sweater after that. Never wear woolen clothes directly over the baby skin. It may cause rashes.

Feeding the Right Food:

I make sure to feed her things which keep her warm. Lots of soups with vegetables is important. I never give fruits in winter as it may cause cold.

Solid Food Schedule for 11 Month Baby / Baby Feeding Schedule for Solids Foods / Feeding Schedule for 11 Month Baby

Maha started her 11th month and my pediatrician told to give whatever we eats. But i am kind of concerned so i dont feed her everything. I still keep her food under my control.

7.00 to 7:30 AM : These days she wakes up so early, i just dont want to feed her heavy early itself.  So as soon as she wakes up, i give her a bisuit, it is milk bikis.

8.15 to 8.30 AM: This time i give her appam, idiyappam, dosa, rava idli, oats idli. Whatever i make for breakfast. Somedays i make chapati so she wont be eating this since it is little hard for her to chew. Those days i give her Nestum mixed with warm water.

After having breakfast she plays and sleeps inbetween she has lots of water, fruit sticks or some snacks. She sleeps at 11.00 AM. She only wakes up around 1.00 PM.

1.00 to 1.30 PM: This is the time which we have lunch so she loves to join us. I give her dal rice, spinach rice, sambar rice without much spice, curd rice, milk rice and it is clearly rice meal for her lunch. After lunch, she plays a lot and takes a lot of water or breast milk.

3.00 to 3.30 PM : I make sure she have some kind of purees like apples sauces, carrot puree or any juices at this time. During winter i just give her vegetables puree and not fruits. You can give her mashed bananas at this time or egg yolk. But maha was bored with egg yolk now so i give her bananas or any fruits.

5.30 to 6.30 PM : It is strictly her health mix porridge or ragi porridge. I sweeten them with palm sugar, jaggery or panangkarkandu.

After this she sleeps a little, somedays she sleeps or some day we will be taking her out so she wont sleep and enjoy the outing.

8.00 to 8.30 PM : I give her something light like idli, dosa, idiyappam or it will be nestum mixed with warm water.

Inbetween these schedule in keep on feeding her mother feeding. I didn't give formula milk because she didn't like it, mother feeding is what i prefer. And after 9.00 PM i dont feed any solid foods, i feed her mother feeding only. I feed her lots of water.
